The Environment and Official Export Support
Environmental Management (ISO 14.001)
In addition to the indirect environmental impact generated by the projects for which CESCE provides official support, the work we carry out at our offices on a daily basis also causes a direct impact in the form of resource consumption (energy, paper, water, etc.) and the generation of waste and emissions (fluorescent bulbs, batteries, toner, paper, boiler emissions, etc.). Although these impacts are not in essence particularly significant, at CESCE we believe that we should offer a comprehensive solution to all those environmental aspects deriving from our activities.
CESCE has therefore decided to introduce an Environmental Management System in accordance with ISO Standard 14.001. The System, which obtained certification on 30 June 2004, is integrated in the Quality System introduced by the company in 1999. This approach encourages all CESCE employees to become involved in the environmental commitment to ongoing improvement on all levels through a more efficient use of resources (e.g. saving energy and reduced paper use), prevention and appropriate waste management.
The Environmental Management System encompasses all impacts of our activities, both direct and indirect, derived from the projects for which we provide official support (Ecocheck). This global setting represents a completely new approach in the certification of service companies, which generally limit management to aspects associated with administrative activities. The System will theoretically be limited to the building located at Velázquez, 74, where the greater part of the administrative activities of CESCE are carried out, although the possibility of extending the system to other offices and branches has not been ruled out.
The commitments undertaken by CESCE in environmental management concerns are included in the Quality and Environmental Policy, which forms the cornerstone on which the Integrated Quality and Environmental Management System has been based.
